BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Tokyo Swing Dance Society (TSDS) was established by Hiroyuki Yamada with Masahisa Segawa in 1998 just after Frankie Manning's first visit to Tokyo, Japan as a lindyhop instructor.   TSDS is a non-profit making lindyhop society and the first lindyhop community in Japan.  Since 1998, TSDS has been providing everything about swing in the area of Tokyo.  

 

DANCE CLASSES: 

Name: Swing Sunday

Lindyhop at 13:30 till 17:00 P.M. every Sunday.

Venue: Setachiku Kaikan, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo

Available upon request from 17:00 P.M. every Sunday.

SOME OF THE MAIN EVENTS TSDS HAS ORGANIZED BEFORE:

TSDS has organized many swing dance events including the following big ones.

1998: Frankie Manningfs first visit to Japan as lindyhop instructor with Singaporean Sing Lim.  This is the first lindyhop workshop in Japan.

2000: Frankie Manningfs (86th) Millennium Birthday Bash at Tokyo American Club in Tokyo.  Endorsed by American Embassy in Japan.

2002: Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas: Their first visit to Japan and workshops

2011: Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas: Ryan and Jenny Swing Ichiban Tokyo 2011
