Chad Kubo is the original Ambassador of Swing in San Francisco. He has been
dancing lindy hop for over 9 years, and has performed and taught workshops
across the United States, including performing in and choreographing a stage
play about swing dancing at two premier repertory theaters. He is the
co-founder of San Francisco's Lindy in the Park, and the co-founder and
owner (with Melanie Moore) of The Doghouse,
the Bay Area's largest ongoing
weekly swing dance. Drawing on his 32 years of martial arts experience,
Chad emphasizes movement and body dynamics in his lindy classes, such as Zen
and the Art of Lindy Hop, Creativity and Musicality, Aerials, Stealing and
Switching Partners, Jazz Movement, and Floor Craft. Chad and his partner,
Melanie, together created the unique Psychology of Leading and Following
workshop, exploring the beliefs and attitudes that can affect one's dancing.
Chad and Melanie teach lindy hop 3 nights a week in the San Francisco Bay
Area, and in addition, Chad teaches swing aerials and a variety of classes
at the Metronome Ballroom.
