Job Interests: Teaching Dance, Performing, Coaching Dance Teams and Choreography Couple and Team Performance Pieces Education: Graduate, Bainbridge High School June 2001 Work Experience: Dance Instructor with A Step Beyond 1997 to Present While in 9th grade, I worked as assistant instructor teaching Lindy Hop dance classes. In 10th grade, I began teaching dance classes as a Head Instructor and helping coach the Swingin* Hepcats. Typically, I would teach three to four nights a week. I have taught classes in Seattle, Silverdale, Bainbridge Island, Mercer Island, Bellevue, and throughout the western Washington area. In addition, I have taught Swing Dancing in Central America (summer of 2000) and Asia (summer of 2001). Choreographer/Asst. Coach of the Swingin* Hepcats 1997 to Present In 10th grade I started to help coach the Swingin* Hepcats. The Swingin* Hepcats are a dance troupe that has performed all over the world. I have taught and Choreographed pieces for the Swingin* Hepcats during the time I was in 10th grade until I graduated from High School. I have choreographed three team pieces, all which have placed in the top five places at the US Open National Swing Dance Championships. As part of International Trips with the Hepcats, I have taught Lindy Hop in the countries of Nicaragua (2000) and Vietnam (2001). I received 1st place in the contest and a five thousand dollar reward. Performance Experience: As part of the Swingin* Hepcats, I have performed over 100 times in public, with major performances at the Seattle Folk life Festival, Seattle Supersonics halftime show, Seattle Bumbershoot Festival, US March of Dimes, US Open National Swing Dance Championships in Los Angeles California, Children's Palaces in Hanoi and HCM City in Vietnam, in a theatrical production called Swingin* then, Swingin* now* with dance legends Norma Miller and Frankie Manning, and many local and international performances.
