Sing LIM and CHONG Chan Meng

Sing has been Lindy Hopping for more than 11 years now, with an inspiring start from lessons with Ryan Francois in London. Along the way, Sing has collected several trophies, including the American Swing Dance Championships and the US Open Swing Dance Championships. In 1994 Sing returned home to Singapore where she set up Jitterbugs Swingapore, quickly establishing a Lindy Hop community. Sing teaches at dance camps around the world, including Herrang and Catalina as well as judges the American Swing Dance Championships. Sing is known for her classic old school Savoy Style Lindy peppered with a modern feel. Chan Meng learnt Swing (and about 101 other dances!) while studying in Stanford University. On his return to Singapore, Chan Meng's clear and definate lead, coupled with his creative patterns and musicality soon made him a pillarstone of the Lindy Hop community, teaching and performing at Jitterbugs Swingapore.

Levels: Beginners had better know a few Lindy Basics at least, but in this class, you can learn the lindy Hop from the very Basic once again. Even for those who think they are fairly advanced, there must be new discoveries they haven't realized in their basics. In this meaning, this class is very good for real advanced dancers too. Intermediate dancers must be comfortable in and familiar with the basics: Swing Out, Lindy Circle, Basic Side-by-Side Charleston. And understand the importance about frame tensions at least in their minds :) Most students might drop in this category. Advanced dancers. Besides knowing the basics, you must have a solid lead or follow and be comfortable dancing to a variety of tempos.
NOTES: You had better prepare your own drinks. Appropriate exercise shoes and clothes for change are needed. Neither sandals nor high heels for your feet safety. No video cameras are allowed during the class. Photo cameras are allowed. Watching classes without payment is not allowed. See the Swing Calendar too. Subscribe the tsds mailing list for the latest updates. The schedule above might be revised, so please check it out again before you come.
